Tom Joins Inaugural National Advisory Board of the Public Banking Institute

I’m proud to be a member of the inaugural National Advisory Board for the Public Banking Institute.
They are the premiere organization in America explaining, organizing, and making public banking happen.

Public Banking Made Easy – Public Banking Institute

The Public Banking Institute is often asked to explain the concept of public banking in a nutshell. The challenge is to do it in a way that reaches a broad demographic. People come to public banking with different backgrounds, and banking isn’t what most people talk about over dinner with friends.

Congratulations on joining the Public Banking Institute’s Advisory Board along with Ameya Pawar and Amara Enyie, three members now from Illinois. I would love to talk to you about TIFS and The People’s Lobby’s interest in bringing public banking to Illinois. I watched you on Ben Joravsky’s October 29 updating the TIFS status under Mayor Lightfoot. I have been active with The People’s Lobby’s Revenue Task Force for two years. A year ago I learned about public banking from your publication, Chicago Is not Broke. I have no background in banking or finance but I am retired and have spent all year devouring everything I can get my hands on.
